Is laser cutting faster than CNC cutting?

For thin materials (especially sheet metal), laser cutting is much faster than CNC cutting, sometimes even more than 10 times faster;

However, for thick materials, CNC cutting may be more advantageous or even irreplaceable.

 

Why is laser cutting faster for thin materials?
Non-contact processing: No mechanical cutting force, no need to consider tool load, and high-speed movement is possible.
No tool wear: CNC cutting requires regular tool changes, while laser cutting does not.
