NdFeB, the highest-performance rare-earth permanent magnet, is widely used in new energy vehicles, wind power equipment, precision electronics, and smart devices due to its high magnetic energy product and strong coercivity.
However, its high hardness, brittleness, and tendency to chip or crack make traditional mechanical processing extremely challenging. Laser processing, a non-contact precision technique, is gradually replacing wire cutting, grinding, and punching, becoming the mainstream method for shaping NdFeB.
The 1mm NdFeB samples recently processed by Yuchang Laser are shown below:

YCLASER's precision cutting equipment achieves repeatable accuracy up to 0.02mm. The cutting gaps are narrow, and edges are smooth, eliminating the need for extensive post-polishing. This significantly improves product appearance and dimensional accuracy, fully meeting the tolerance requirements of high-end electronics and sensors.
Laser cutting also allows precise trajectory control via CNC programs. It can easily produce complex shapes such as circles, arcs, hollow structures, and beveled surfaces, addressing the limitations of traditional methods in forming irregular NdFeB components.
Additionally, laser processing is highly efficient and suitable for large-scale production. YCLASER can reach processing speeds of 100mm/min without complex fixtures. With optional fully automated loading and unloading, continuous production is possible, shortening lead times and reducing labor and equipment costs, fully supporting industrial-scale manufacturing.
NdFeB raw materials are expensive, and material loss directly affects production cost. YCLASER's fine cutting lines and compact layout minimize waste, maximizing utilization of valuable rare-earth materials and providing significant cost advantages in long-term production.
Located in the laser industry hub of Wuhan Optics Valley and supported by leading universities and enterprises, YCLASER is dedicated to high-precision micro-nano equipment manufacturing. We provide contract processing for various hard and brittle materials to customers worldwide and welcome sample submissions for free testing.
